ORBITAL HANDLING / ROTATION STUDIO
Attitude Atelier
A nudge starts the turn. Your next move brings it to rest.
Use the six thrusters to turn the entire cargo box. Each pulse uses 1 fuel and advances 0.5 seconds. Coast advances another 0.5 seconds for free. Brake applies opposing torque for 2 seconds and costs 3 fuel — the cargo keeps turning while it slows.
Time pauses between moves. Compare the two views and the pose-error instrument. Dock within 7° of the target and below 0.06 rad/s.
Pulse pitch +, coast twice, then brake. Dock when both instruments turn green.
Fixed station axes
Pitch X · Yaw Y · Roll Z. Pulses add momentum; they do not set an angle.

Why axis order matters · model & credits
Three-dimensional rotations do not commute. Pitch followed by roll produces a different pose from roll followed by pitch. The asymmetric box has different moments of inertia, so equal impulses about different axes produce different speeds.
OimoPhysics integrates the full rigid body, quaternion orientation and inertia tensor. There is no gravity, passive damping or translation. Brake torque opposes angular velocity at every physics step; it does not snap the pose or velocity. These are illustrative training puzzles, not spacecraft control software.
The target is the final pose of a feasible maneuver, not the only allowed solution. Undo reconstructs the previous maneuver history; Reset starts fresh. Eight commissions vary shape, axis combinations and timing.
